I have stalled on completing the Hasegawa RAF Thunderbolt II "Combo" boxing of the famous P-47. The idea was to build one and my daughter the other, but time ran out as she had to return home My build was even further behind. For the Threat, I intend to complete my daughter's P-47. This is very feasible despite the late entry. Secondly, I hope to finish my own build. This is less likely due to personal issues and the fact I am so slow at building models. This Combo boxing has stirred up a whole bloomin' squadron Have since bought a few more P-47 kits and an aftermarket decal set as I love the look of the "Jug" in RAF South East Asia Campaign markings So I hope you won't get bored of seeing them over the next few/several months! lol Am keeping things simple and building pretty much straight out of the box. So that is me hopefully claiming a spot in the threat in time. Will post some photos of where I am at ASAP Hope my humble attempts at scale modelling will not be too out of place Thanks for looking |

I've been thinking of painting up scale model aircraft for some Bolt Action/Flames of War armies that are on my do to list. Need to figure out what works best in terms of scale and what have you. But I always thought that aircraft in a larger scale than the ground troop models would work fine. They fly closer to the eye of the gamer so should look bigger due to perspective, haha! There's a lot of cross over potential for ideas and techniques, so I'm looking forward to seeing your progress! Member Since: February 28, 2014 Initative RK: 1 MP: 0 | Sunday August 24, 2014 6:45 PM Firstly thank you guys for the interest shownSecondly another apology. Have sadly made the decision to abort this month's paint threat. I hope to finish this one at some point this week if my energy levels allow. Have not been too good since starting the thread and so will be unable to finish on time. It seems impertinent to enter this one on its should it be completed as it was at an advanced stage of the build. Its companion will not be completed as I have only been able to progress slowly It has had the engine and cowl attached permanently since the photo below was taken; wing tip navigation lights added; had its aerial mast broken off along with the pitot tube and a gun barrel! They were only meant to be quick out of the box builds So the plan is to finish the Black Thunderbolt, make progress on the second one and will try and enter it along with a barely started Razorback in next month's Paint Threat. |
