 Member Since: August 7, 2014  RK: 1 MP: 0   | Thursday August 7, 2014 4:50 PM Hello all, new to the forums and just now getting back into wargamming after backing the Kickstarter for Relic knights.After more then a month of cleaning, assembling, and sculpting custom bases the models are ready for paint. Full sets of Cerci and Star Nebula, including Radiants and Voids. I don't have any expectations for this to go quickly but I have to start somewhere.  It's been over 15 years since I last painted a mini so going to be taking it slow at first. My initial goal is going to be to paint up Princess Malya, her mech, Mr. Tom, and a pacer. Member Since: August 7, 2014 RK: 1 MP: 0 | Thursday August 7, 2014 5:09 PM OK, first WIP update.I made this as difficult as possible and decided to purchase an Airbrush and try my had at a few new techniques for painting. As you can see in the earlier photos I started by basing in black and trying some pre-highlighting in white. I'm not sure how much I liked this but I am going to keep messing with it. I managed to completely mesup the pacer and had to strip it down. It was a mixture of still tweaking how thinning the paints should work, and getting ahead of myself on the wash. I don't have any pics of that fail, but this is a WIP for Malya's mech. Have only laid down the purple with highlights and shades, and based the metallic areas with black so far. I suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome and and the pain has kept me going slow, maybe this will convince me to get the surgery for it  . |

Member Since: August 7, 2014 RK: 1 MP: 0 | Monday August 11, 2014 9:01 AM Didn't get much time to work this weekend but did get a bit more finished on the mech. Just need to go back now and fix and highlight the purple, then add the wash. Also considering if I should try my hand at some OSL for the sword and eyes. Do have a question on that, would you do the OSL before or after the shade wash?  |

Went a week without much work but was able to do a lot of catching up this weekend. Tried my hand at ink shading the Mech, then had to clean it up, but I think the OSL came out OK, Couple coats of gloss and should be finished up.    Malya is painted now to gloss and do a bit of shading.    This is Malya and her Mech's base.  Started on Mr. Tom.   |

Had fun getting back into the painting game. Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated.
