Member Since: May 13, 2013 RK: 1 MP: 0 | Tuesday December 3, 2013 10:41 PM I had a long day at work, and like I always do I sit down at the table, block out the dogs put on some music and just zone out painting. Here's about 6 hours of work on Madrak. I tried my hand at making my own Verdigris wash for the copper armour, waiting for it to dry to see how it turns out. I know he's supposed to be an albino, but I wanted to keep the skin at least in line with the skin for the army. I started with a base of sky blue and lightened it up until I was happy with the final highlight. I noticed partway through painting that I was a bad painter and missed a couple of mold lines on the face and arm. I decided to turn them into "scars" since he tends to be a more physical warlock, so there is some pinked raised flesh on the arm. The runes are VMA Light Sea Blue gone over with Minitaire Plasma Fluid Ghost Tint. It's a pretty cool glowing rune effect. The base is cork covered in modelling paste for texture, pretty happy with how that turned out, just need to trim the grass a little. Once he's dry I'll be giving him some cleanup. He's already seen his first shot at table top and went toe to to with Sorcha and won! I'm still getting used to this confangled light box, but enjoy anyways!Also started in on the Stone Bearers and the Stone Chronicler. I did manage to find some hobby time and I did get my Krielstone Bearers done and the Stone Scribe Chronicler only needs some clean-up and some basing and he'll be ready to keep my Fennblades alive while they march across the field. Will attempt to take better pictures tomorrow after work with the lightbox. Also, I'm pleased to announce that Madrak won his first appearance on the tabletop via an assassination with his wonderful thrown axe and a crit.            |
