I did practice about 6 hours on this style...and in the process i learned how to hide a bunch of my mistakes....i will work my butt off this weekend to complete it...I work late a lot and only get about 2 hours max a night on this if I'm not beat from work...heck i'm just now getting the test clear coat done before clear coating everything... I do have a plan for the base thanks to Clint in OZ ....bought some water effect and i will make the ground lava if i can like the Heldrake melted the ground! if it works...who knows...any tips welcomed!! oh did I say that this is my first attempt to use my airbrush outside of just base coating? I guess technically it's still base coating really...just fancy base coating.. last word....I don't think the "flat coat" from Minitaire/Badger is MATT at all...is like a satin at best! unless they labeled it wrong... |

I've learned a ton...one how to do flames!!! |

Member Since: May 13, 2013 RK: 1 MP: 0 | Friday January 31, 2014 11:50 AM Clear coat went on this morning...I was up until 2:30 fixing my wash overbrushing...I figured out one thing important...never ever have more than one new technique that you haven't had much success with prior to doing a threat!Learning to paint flames took too much time, then trying watercolor washes (which didn't work for me) wasn't a great idea on this project...maybe if I had more time to test it and learn exactly how long to let it dry and such...... I should be done tonight just before the deadline...assembly and final work on the base!!! i'll post up the pics once I'm home of what I've done and i'll list out everything I did to it at the end....but I am stoked on the look thus far! peace [[Edited by dhstarwars on Friday January 31, 2014 2:33 PM]] |
