They'll need a bit of cleanup but I'm happy with how they came out. the head for the leader had a wicked mold line that was near impossible to get rid of without ruining the face completely, so I made it into a scar and blackened out the eye socket. First time playing with heavy Verdigris but I am pleased for the most part. Grissel has been completed and based, but she'll need a little cleanup, or rather, a little more dirtying up, as well. The bricks for the base are home made. and now I sleep. Tomorrow I start tackling the beasts and assemble and prime eGrissel. |

Member Since: May 13, 2013 Initative RK: 1 MP: 0 | Sunday January 5, 2014 6:17 PM Got some time in on eGrissel (I love the model), Mulg and the EBDT. Was able to get a base done for the EBDT. I couldn't find a way to appropriately mount him for painting, so I decided just to build a weighted base and put him right on it. My plan is to do black stone like I do for most of my characters or big guys, and since he's an adaptive lad I'm going to have the black "creeping" up his arm converting his stones from the brown the majority of them will be. When filling his gaps, I roughed up the skin a bit with the apoxie sculpt to add a bit of texture. Also seemed appropriate for the EBDT. That will get picked out in the later dry brushing and washing. Grissel I loved so much that I took the fist rock slam dealy from my MK since I have special basing in mind for him that doesn't involve it, and decided to give her a bit of a crater to stand in. She's a mean lady, deserves a bad ass base. Mulg was also a bit heavy to have on corks so I put him just on his base. He'll likely be slogging through mud made from modelling paste. I didn't get as much time with them as I wanted to, my back was killing me from shoveling ( GG North East) I should get some more quality time with them in the next couple of days. Moving along at a nice clip. |

Member Since: May 13, 2013 Initative RK: 1 MP: 0 | Wednesday January 8, 2014 1:46 PM Got some more time in this week. Nothing much else to do when you're stuck inside during a Polar Vortex! These guys are ready for final washes and cleanup. Transitioned the rocks on the arm from black to brown to light brown on the very top, attempting to make it look like he's "adapting". He has a lot of cleanup and touchups left to do, which is on tonight's agenda. Model is freaking heavy and awkward. Mulg also just needs some cleanup and will get some more washing. Gave the magic club some heavy verdigris on spikes which were done as a Bronze metal. Runes were glazed with Plasma Fluid Ghost Tint, and will get a gloss varnish when everything is done. Again lots of cleanup. Grissel received a little bit of the verdigris wash, and will need another going over with the black wash. Today will be all about the cleanup, washes and varnish! |
