Valander | Paint Threat February 2014 - Convergence of Cyriss Heavy Jacks -- COMPLETED |
Member Since: October 12, 2013 Initative RK: 1 MP: 0 | Monday February 3, 2014 1:07 PM Having missed my threat last month by a day, and due to this month being a bit short, my threat is likewise gonna be a little small. It is: Finish painting the 3 Convergence of Cyriss Heavy Warjacks which are in the background of several of my paint threat pictures. Right now, they're base coated silver, so they need various other brass bits, glowy bits, etc. and to be stuck on their damn bases. [[Edited by Valander on Friday February 14, 2014 10:15 AM]] |

They were already basecoated with airbrush and Vallejo Model Air paints, but still a bunch of details and other stuff to do on them. |

I'm trying to get that effect on a model Formula 1 car but I'm not sure where to start. RD Scientists study the world as it is; Engineers create the world that has never been. ~Theodore von Karman |

Then full coverage with VMA Aluminium, and highlighted with VMA Chrome. They'll eventually get an oil wash of a blue-black like the rest of my Cyriss models. The plan for the brass bits is base with VMA Rust Metallic (mainly because it covers really well and gives a dark base to work on again), base with VMC Brass, highlight with VMA Shiny Brass.I've found they will dull down a bit with varnish, so I usually use a satin coat on this much metal over matte coat. |
