 Member Since: January 21, 2014  RK: 1 MP: 0   | Thursday February 6, 2014 9:12 AM First Paint Threat Ever! Wasn't sure if I should try this or not but I do like the idea of goal setting. I decided to start with something small and modest so I am going to finish painting the last two figures from Mystics and Mice: Tilda the Healer & Lily the Archer. Here's a photo before I get too much further. I picked up Mice and Mystics (RPG in a box style co-op board game) in the Fall and I decided to try miniature painting because I didn't like the plain plastic figures. I had dabbled with painting way back when I played AD&D; slapping a few coats of Testor's model paint on a mini representing your character but not much more than that. I've been picking away at the mini's and these are the last two left to finish. I've caught the bug and I've been picking up Malifaux.I have a Victorias crew that I am trying to paint in order to be able start playing. These will be my bonus/stretch goals for February 2014. I'm not completely happy with the how I handled the white on Tilda but it's probably the best I can do at my present skill level. In fact I stripped it and started over about a week into this. I had been putting this off as I wasn't sure how to handle the figure; the white and the fact that it was mostly smooth areas. Glad that it's done now and I can always revisit it later.Also managed to get two Malifaux Steampunk Abominations done, though the still need to get mounted to ther bases, which I am finishing up. I had more Malifaux on the go but I don't think I'll get them finished before Firday based on my available hobby time this week.  Better pictures to follow by Friday once I get my table cleaned up.
