Just got done with the coat of minwax for shading. Going to let it dry tonight and tomorrow then I can dullcoat and call it done. |

Let them sit for a whole day, did some drybrushing on the bases, and I just finished putting a second coat of matte varnish on them. Going to give it an episode of Dr. Who, add some static grass flock here and there to match my other soviets, and then pictures and declare it done. Interesting time learning to use an airbrush to put on the varnish and some touchups in the beginning. I am going to need a lot of practice. Hurray! |

Kit has 31 plastic russians and went together alright. the parts are all numbered so that you can see what arms are supposed to go with what body. Naturally I ignored those instructions, and they still went together alright. Some putty work in the end, but not bad. The bonuses of anri-tank rifles and flamethrowers are black tree design soviets which are just fantastic sculpts. So the paint threat was for 29 soviets, I have 30 here plus a bonus of 2 anti-tank rifle teams and 2 flame thrower soviets. Starting with the whole of the original threat  Basically I have a 12 man rifle team, a 12 man smg team, a commander, two LMGs, a sniper, a loader, and a spotter which I put on a half base in anticipation of using him in the back of a AA Gaz truck model I hope to put together soon. Rifle team W/ NCO and his flaming bottle of leadership  SMG squad again w NCO and the flaming bottle of leadership  Lt. and two LMGs  Sniper, Loader, and Spotter  Bonus!!!
