 Member Since: May 11, 2013  RK: 1 MP: 0   | Monday March 3, 2014 10:18 AM during this month i am building from scratch and then painting a 1' x 1' diorama for IDICBeers youtube subscriber competition.since i have to finish before the end of march, i figured id multi-purpose the task and post it here too! it will be a rocky/mountainous piece, with germanic warriors attacking a viking settlement. features will include a rope bridge and a waterfall. |

Member Since: May 11, 2013 RK: 1 MP: 0 | Tuesday March 11, 2014 6:27 PM Thanks RustyDice! i havent done much for a few days as i was waiting for the jointing compound which i will be using to skim over the styrofoam. Fill a few areas, sculpt a little more detail in places. make it look more natural. I want to get the foam glued down onto my base board first, incase the (apparently minimal) shrinkeage of the compound warps it. The board should help keep everything where it should be, and then once the compound is set i can hit it with some spray paint and washes! |

The foam is now attached to the base board and a layer of the jointing compound has been applied to part of it. I will be 'skimming' the foam areas too, but for now this is as far as i got as i didnt want to do too much before i knew how it would behave.    |
