Member Since: May 10, 2013 Initative RK: 1 MP: 0 | Tuesday March 4, 2014 11:12 PM For March, I'm going to be painting up the Master of the Deathwing himself, Belial. For those that have been following my other threats, this shouldn't come as much of a surprise (there will likely be Deathwing next month too, I've got to get this army painted hehe). I'm hoping to get a working with finecast and a glazing tutorial in as well while I'm prepping and painting the model. |

Member Since: May 10, 2013 Initative RK: 1 MP: 0 | Friday March 7, 2014 5:51 PM The finecast is annoying, but at least the resin itself isn't too bad to work with. I've had to fix bubbles on the face, the fingers, the flex joints and studs on the shoulder pad (and that's not mentioning the easy fixes, like the cape). GW has also opted to cast in a bunch of gussets on this model that I have to go in, pick out, and smooth. I took a break from that tedious work and put together a base for him. I had the difficult task of making the base interesting, yet it had to match the SWM bases I'm using for the rest of the army. I ended up carving baked sculpy for the rocks and I also used SWM bricks and a pewter pipe bit. |

Member Since: May 10, 2013 Initative RK: 1 MP: 0 | Tuesday March 11, 2014 12:10 AM I finally finished dealing with all of the Finecast issues. When prepping this model, I went ahead and put together a tutorial on how to fix a lot of the issues encountered when dealing with Finecast as well. Feel free to check it out here. Hopefully some of you find it helpful |

I've only one or two resin minis and so far I can't see anything positive about them...I guess they're here to stay and will just have to level up my skills to deal with it, so again, thanks for the tut! Fixing the casting flaws on this model took way more time than any single model should, and school got a bit hectic. I'm thinking next month should be a lot better with Spring break coming. |

I think I've put more time into this than any other miniature, but on the bright side, I got to try a lot of new things.. Here it is for those that are interested-and here's a closeup of the weathering on the base- |
