For both strips, the 1st pic shows basic color application with a brush, the last one highlights with a brush, and all those in between are thin layers with an airbrush. This is not a proper tutorial (calling this a tutorial would be an insult to all the people who actually take the time and effort to do so). But it gives an idea of the step-by-step. Stormblade Captain - OSL Sturmaffe "Silverback" - OSL Aaaaaaand for good measure (kidding - no particular reason), front pic of a very pissed-off Sturmaffe Silverback... I guess that generator pulls off a lot of heat? In any case, he doesn't look too friendly... I hope those Blutkreuz scientists know what they're doing! |

The idea is to make a lightbox fast, easy and for super cheap. You take a frosted basket (or trashcan) and whatever lights you have at hand (but the the brighter the better, look for daylight bulbs). The lights need to point at the basket in order for it to diffuse the light. This will help you reduce the glare at the same time. Finally, you tape a printed background in the bottom of the basket This was my setup (notice I'm not using a kickass camera) : Is that a makeshift lightbox on my floor? Well yes. Yes it is. Took more picture of my apes after this, just to see if I could get interesting results. Wow ok, that's possibly the best results I ever got out of my camera! So doing this again! Next up : pictures of the Swans! Cheers! - Yaum |
