I agree that we can over do the base and draw attention away from the figure, like the idea of using the pomice. I also agree with you that 40K can be more akin to WWI, than WWII. In fact my own chapter, Emperor's Dragoons are a trench fighting force, for the most part, although there will be some maneuver elements too.Sarge "If you ain't CAV, you ain't!!" |

The pigments for the mudd look very flat and one color, and they provide a bit of contrast to the dark earth, which i like. I think i need a wash, and maybe some very preciss application of a darker (or at least different) color to liven up the mud, in faireness, the flash seems to flatten out the pigment. still, pigments are new for me. and sever mud was the reality of much of the war. Here it is up close from the front. I needt to enhance the shadow effect under the eyes. But this is damn close to done. Now for the next one.  |
