Member Since: May 13, 2013 Initative RK: 1 MP: 0 | Monday September 9, 2013 12:38 PM Figure I'll participate this month, and I'll paint up my very first Hordes models. A min unit of Kriel Warriors (6). Should be fun esp with the color of the Trollblood's skin.[[Edited by Lodur on Saturday September 28, 2013 12:10 AM]] |

Kriel Warriors. First basecoat for the flesh First highlight Overbrush with some grey and a little shade to begin to tie all the colors together I used Sapphire Blue from Reaper as the base, VMA Light Sea Blue for the first Highlight and then a dry brush of a 2:1 mix of Fenrisian Grey and Light Sea Blue. Finished it off with a Drakenhof NIghtshade. I really like how the skin turned out. I wanted to go for a bit of a molted look, since I figure these guys are charging up the field and shrugging off mortal wounds with their Tough ability that their skin will be constantly shifting between dead and regenerated. and some shots of the boys It was originally supposed to be a min unit, but I found the Standard and the Piper for dirt cheap and couldn't resist... so I.... well I added them. All that is left now is some cleanup, basing and sealing and I'm calling them good. |

Member Since: May 13, 2013 Initative RK: 1 MP: 0 | Saturday September 28, 2013 12:13 AM Mixed up some modeling paste with pigments / paints to get a mud color / consistency, added some static grass, moss and smaller stones to give it a more battlefield look, nothing clean for the clans! also every models feet, legs and bottom of the Tartans have mud applied to them with some sponges. just waiting for the past to finish drying, then a Matte Varnish and we're all good. So... calling these guys done. |
