I will not be including the Nothing Beast at this time, as I am missing a piece and checking with Wyrd for replacement. If resolved in time, will add it as a bonus. Member Since: May 10, 2013 Initative RK: 1 MP: 0 | Saturday October 5, 2013 10:12 PM Well, finally got some hobby time in. My threat is built, just have to clean up the glue lines and figure out what I want do for the bases. Big time thank you to Wyrd Miniatures, my Nothing Beast was missing the tentacle for his face, I contact Wyrd, told them the deal, and in less than a week had a replacement in my hand. No questions, that is great customer service. Still going to keep it as a bonus for this month, as work, and other projects are going to limit me to little hobby time. Now if the weather will cooperate, I can have them primed and base coated by Monday.Sarge "If you ain't CAV, you ain't!!" |

Member Since: May 10, 2013 Initative RK: 1 MP: 0 | Monday October 7, 2013 6:04 PM Managed to get some hobby time in earlier today, hope to get some more later too. I got all the figures primed and started work on the Void Fleas. After seeing Mistimp's work with a product called Spaz Stix I wanted to get some, but not owning an airbrush I knew it would be awhile before I could. Things changed this weekend as I went to my local Hobbytown and found that Spaz Stix comes in a rattle can! Well butter me up, and call me a biscuit! The choices weren't great, in fact only two, I got the Gold/Green/Orange/Purple, as I was going to do a purple scheme anyway. So, today I used it on the Void Fleas. My concept was to paint only the back armor plates, and would tie it in with hand painting the head and lower torso. I had also picked up some Micro Mask, and used that to mask off the areas I didn't want sprayed. Here is the results:So after the paint dried I went to remove the mask, now I have never used this before and had visions of it peeling right off. Nooooo, that is not what happened. In fact I had to carefully scrape the stuff off, tape wouldn't do anything, and trying to get it to lift up was impossible. So, I have managed to get one flea done, and will work on the other two, slowly. I am disappointed with the outcome of this paint, the light is not strong enough to see all the different colors, unless you hold it right to the light, but there is enough change and iridescence to it that I came close to what i wanted to achieve. Here's one of the fleas I have cleaned up So I am hoping to get some time tonight to start on Kara, and Katrina, at least I don't have to mask them...lol. Will update again soon.
