They were in OK condition. The mould lines hadn't been cleaned yet, so I did that, but at least they didn't use an entire bottle of glue for each model when putting them together like I see so often on used models. I put Vallejo Oxide Paste (amazing stuff) and some medium ballast on the bases, and then primed them:![]() ![]() |

First I did a little pre-shading, and then I coated them with RMS Ultramarine Blue.![]() I originally planned on them being quick and simple, but I just couldn't help myself and changed things up. They got purple rear-ends, aqua highlighted front ends, and aqua spots on their rear-ends: ![]() ![]() Next I washed them with GW Nightshade and gave them red frills. ![]() ![]() I plan to finish the Mitigator in the next couple days so I can get him in the mail. I actually did it with my airbrush by lowering the psi and putting thick paint in it so that it clogged up and spattered whenever I depressed the trigger. Toothbrush sounds easier, and then I wouldn't have to clean a clogged airbrush! |

![]() Member Since: May 10, 2013 ![]() RK: 1 MP: 0 ![]() ![]() | Tuesday November 12, 2013 12:37 AM You can also load up the paint brush and use the airbrush to blow air through the brush. This will also keep you from having to clean a clogged airbrush....lol. Sarge "If you ain't CAV, you ain't!!" |

![]() Member Since: October 18, 2013 ![]() RK: 1 MP: 0 ![]() ![]() | Tuesday November 12, 2013 10:32 PM Lol another great idea! Finally got around to doing the orange glow on the Mitigator: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() They asked that we not base the models for Project Orange Crush, so the Mitigator part of my threat is done now. I should hopefully finish the Skinks in a day or two, and the wolves are mostly airbrush work so they should go quickly! I'm still deciding on colors though. I'm not sure whether each pack should be different colors (grey wolves and brown wolves) or if I should go for efficiency and make them the same color, and then of course which color. |

But, could always say they choose only brown or grey ones for the unit. Some Cavalry units did that with their horses.Sarge "If you ain't CAV, you ain't!!" |

But it's not *your* fault. ![]() That being said, nice orange glow! And big props to you for donating to Orange Crush! --- I like your Skinks. Very sweet tabletop level, will make a beautiful unit! Carry on ![]() |

![]() Member Since: October 18, 2013 ![]() RK: 1 MP: 0 ![]() ![]() | Wednesday November 13, 2013 8:58 PM Thanks!I'm not a huge fan of the Cyriss models either, or really any model that is mostly metal (Khador Extreme Destroyer and Menoth Judicator excepted...and they are both in my painting queue). The Angels are pretty nice, and I've seen the Keg Whats-it Lady look pretty cool though. That being said, it was fun enough to paint it, and I'm happy to be participating in Project Orange Crush. I'd like to find more of these kinds of things to participate in. I flocked the Skinks today, so they are finished. I did have time to take pictures of them as well as a Reaper model I started painting last night, but, due to computer issues, I am going to have to wait until tomorrow to get them off the SD card and post them. As for the wolf colors, here is a pack I painted previously: ![]() That is what I meant by brown. I'm also considering a grey version, or one of each.
