Review of the Wicken King Bust
September 24, 2015 by JillianFoxtail
Today we're going to take a look at the Broken Toad Wicken King Bust. Busts are usually a great way to practice your painting skills and have been showing up more and more in painting competitions. Is the Wicken King Bust worth being added to your collection?
Upon receiving the Broken Toad Wicken King bust I was initially impressed by the clean packaging.
It came in a black box with a label showing off the bust in it's unpainted form. The box is textured and being an extremely tactile person I LOVED the box. Yes, I’m like a cat. The box was almost more fun for me than the bust... almost.
I opened the box and from my first impression, I was very happy with what I saw. The bust came in 3 parts; the torso, and the right and left shoulder pads.
The resin is the absolutely beautiful and which I have come to know Broken Toad for. The textures are wonderfully detailed. There is the creepy flayed flesh thing going on, the beaten metals, the wood, the draped cloth and the fantastic chain mail. All of these textures had me envisioning a creepy lich type of monster and inspired me on how I would paint this bust. I cannot wait to get started on him.
Cost: 25gbp

Packaging: 4/5It’s a fancy textured box. The only way I would have given it another star would be to make the box from wood or something fancy like that.
Model quality: 4/5There were a couple bubbles on the bust but those are super easy to cover and the mold lines were minimal.
Overall: 4/5I totally recommend you pick this bust up!
