Member Since: May 7, 2013 Initative RK: 1 MP: 0 | Sunday May 12, 2013 9:18 PM I don't make enough $$$ to buy the high end gaming tables that you see at the conventions, but I really wanted something beyond just a 6x4 piece of plywood to game on. I have decent woodworking skills, so I figured I would put them to use and build a table that I could take down and stow when I didn't need it up for gaming. The first thing I decided was that I didn't want to build legs for this project, so I would use an existing folding table I picked up a while back at Lowes. It is 72" long by 30" wide.I had some good 1x6x6s that I ripped down to 1x4x6 to make a frame that would fit around the folding table.. I glued the joints and used 1.5" drywall screws to fasten it together. I tested the frame to make sure it would fit on the table. Snug as a bug on a rug! I bought some 1/2" finished plywood from Home Depot for about $35, and had them cut it into a 6x4 piece. I placed it on the ground then positioned my frame on top and drew lines so I would be know where to run my drywall screws and attached them together. More to come! This table is rock solid. I can easily stand on it and I'm 230lbs. Another shot from underneath.. After this was done, I took a break for about a week. Today, (12 May 2013), I attached the 4" frame that fit around the top of the 6x4 table surface. I don't have any pics of that, so you will have to wait till I get my video finished.
