 Member Since: May 10, 2013 RK: 1 MP: 0 | Sunday January 19, 2014 9:02 PM Not really sure how, or why I started to paint the Trollbloods, but I have become addicted to them, for the very reason you stated, I love the character of almost all the figures, I mean who doesn't love a blue troll in a bowler hat and chumping on a cigar! They have just the right amount of cartoony (is that a word?) in them to make them fun to paint. And from all I have been able to read, they are pretty kickass on the gaming table too. Hope you all like him, I am very happy with how he turned out, especially the albino skin, was a little worried about that. I started to work on Grim's base, still have a few more details to add, and not sure if I want to go kind of swampy, or woodsy yet.   The base is cork, which i have an abundance of. I used PVA glue, mixed in a little VMC Flat Earth, and cover it with a sand mixture. Once dried I palnted it VMC Flat Earth, and glued down some Army Painter Swamp tufts. This was then given a wash of GW Agrax Earthshade, including the tufts. while the wash was still wet I added Secret Weaons pigments, Ancient Earth, Green Earth and Yellow Earth, then let it dry. I then dry brushed the tufts with green colors, started with VGC Mutation Green, then VGC Goblin Green, then a mix of VGC Goblin Green and GW Sunbrust Yellow. Once I got the tufts looking like I wanted, I gave them a final dty brush of VMC tan Yellow to tone it down some. Think it turned out pretty good, let me know what you think. I am thiniking the soil needs to lightened up some, and may add some static grass too. Still a WIP, so can change things.
