 Member Since: December 9, 2013  RK: 1 MP: 0   | Sunday January 19, 2014 8:34 AM I would probably have finished my paint threat by now, but my package from Back 2 Base-ix 2 arrived a couple of days ago. This resulted in not only having to get them assembled, but also resulted in the tidying of my desk and hobby supplies. Amazing products though, they have a rack for everything hobby related! now my paints are really organised and so much easier to find. I thought I would include a quick picture of my desk after the racks had been assembled. In regards to Commander Brightsword himself I was actually able to accomplish quite a lot. A layer of Dawnstone was applied over the base coat of Mechanicus Standard Grey, the Abadon black base colour was applied to the remaining areas, decals were applied, directional light shading was done and finally the chipped weathering was also done. All that is left is to paint the lenses, the fusion blades jutting out, apply mud to the feet and legs of Commander Brightsword, glue on the grass and paint the rim of the base with Abadon black. I'm hopping to be able to knock this out of the way in the next few days, so lets see if all goes to plan and I can do it. Here are the progress shots:      |

I am hopping I can get up the complete pictures before I have to go out.I would have a look at Back 2 Base-ix 2, they make there racks according to the the paint range you use and create both the racks that I have and vertical ones too. They are also made in both MDF and Acrylic plastic depending on what you like. Well thats commander Brightsword, he will be thrown right into the middle of enemy lines, deep striking in with Commander Farsight. Once there they will hopefully Chop everything up in sight! I thought because Brightsword would be in such a close proximity to the enemy, he would also take a lot more hits, resulting in a lot more battle damage.  |
