Sarge | Paint Threat March 2014 - Tommy's War, WWI Gordon Highlander |

I have been wanting to get back into doing some scale modelling, and with this being the 100th anniversary of World War One, I thought these figures would be a good start. The figure is of a private in the 1st Battalion, The Gordon Highlanders, at the battle of Le Cateau 1914. There is another reason I chose this figure, my Grandfather served in the Gordon Highlanders in WWI, not sure if he was present at this battle, so this is going to a tribute to him. Hope I can do it justice, and that you all will forgive a non-gaming figure, but most all I hope you will enjoy the build with me. So with that , there is only one thing to say, "BRING IT ON, PUPPY DOGS! LET"S PAINT!!!"Sarge "If you ain't CAV, you ain't!!" |

Really hope it goes well for you, especially since there's a personal connection. I was at the Scottish National War Memorial in Edinburgh Castle in December, the air is very thick with history at that place. The sculptured and stained glass memorials are a remarkable tribute. Especially don't mind it's not strictly war gaming, well...it sort of is now I think about it, they just haven't got around to making some rules in that scale Good luck RD Scientists study the world as it is; Engineers create the world that has never been. ~Theodore von Karman |
