Been doing some research on this subject, one draw back to historicals is having to be as acurate as possible. Think I have all the info I need top get a very good representation of the subject. it's a very nice sculpt, although I will need to do some filling gaps aroumd the arms. The only big problem with this figure is the bayonet is warped, hot water and a clamp sould take care of this. Hope to start painting later this week, need to finish pretty quick as I would like to enter him in a local contest, in 2 weeks. Also, have Adepticon to prep for. Best thing I found was to start the cooler side of hot and work my way slowly warmer water/longer dips, but I guess that's just good sense =P Congrats on the 'award' for last month and good luck with the threat! Unfortunately, I will have to withdraw from this months threat. Work is just making about impossible to get any hobby time, and I have comitted to having a painted crew for AdeptiCon. I do not want to rush the highlander, as it is a tribute to Grandfather, so I want to have the time to do it right. I am sorry if have disappointed any of you, but I will pick up the highlander for perhaps for next months threat. Hopefully work has settled down and I can get the time to do him justice. Again, thanks for nice words of encouragement, means a lot to me. Oh, I will be posting the progress of my AdeptiCon crew on a seperate thread, hope you will check it out. We have the best threat yet going this month, I will be popping in to check out your threats. Probably not the best philosophy, but it helps keep my sanity intact. Better not rush it!  I'll be looking around for this project when you get to working on it. |
