 Member Since: October 18, 2013  RK: 1 MP: 0   | Friday April 18, 2014 8:08 AM So the adapter arrived, and it was exactly what I needed. Yay! This new compressor is amazing. It hardly ever has to run. I used it for over an hour straight last night and it was barely warm. The old compressor would have had heat problems after 30-45 minutes. It's a California Air Tools 6310 in case anyone is interested. 6.3 gallon tank, twin pistons, runs at 60db. The TCP global 20t ran at 59 db for comparison. I got it for $200 on amazon.com. No pics just now, but last night I got a lot done. I varnished and flocked the palomino horses, built the bases for the remaining 8 horses, finished the airbrush work on the dragons, and finished the gray horses except varnish and flock. Today I will prime the 8 horses, varnish and flock the 4 grays, get at least a decent start on the last 8 horses, and start the brushwork on the dragons. I'm hoping to finish the dragons and the last 8 horses this weekend as well as get started on the riders. If I can do that I should be able to finish in plenty of time on my threat. I'll only have 24 riders and 10 archers at that point. My only worry is that I really need to paint more than this to get the army done before May 29. I also have movement trays and a display board to build, in addition to the 2 wizards, 3 war machines, master engineer, bsb, 8 demigryphs, and Karl on Deathclaw (and I think I'm forgetting somebody in this list...). |

Member Since: October 18, 2013 RK: 1 MP: 0 | Sunday April 20, 2014 5:49 PM I haven't taken new pictures yet, but I did get some work done. I did my very first oil wash ever on the dragons. I also airbrushed basic armor shadows, midtones, and highlights on 8 knights and then oil washed them as well. I'm waiting a day or so before sealing those, and in the mean time I've been working on the rest of the horses. The 4 white horses are done except varnish and flock, and the final 4 chestnut are about half done. Hopefully I can finish them tonight. Instead of finishing the dragons tonight I'm going to do the airbrushing on another 8 knights. Then I will be done with 20 horses, almost done or done with the last 4 horses, almost done with the two dragons, and a good way into 16 riders. |

I finished the "white"horses: I think those are my favorite set so far. I have about 1-2 hours left to finish the final 4 horses, so hopefully that will be done today. Here's a picture of all the horses I have completed so far:  Here's a WIP of the dragons after the oil wash:  I will probably spend about an hour bringing up a few highlights, and then I will move on to the bases. Maybe they will be done today, or maybe tomorrow. Strangely, I forgot to take a picture of the riders I have been working on, but so far I have 16 knights about 2/3 of the way done. |
