At any rate, I think the molding process would be more difficult and laborious than this, now that I've done it. It wouldn't be hard to do up some lone heads for those not interested in sculpting. |

Now that the current guys are cured and ready, I'll be priming and base coating with zenithal highlights tonight and tomorrow. Wednesday and Thursday will be marathon days, aaaaallll day. |

Turned out well. First time using the three shades of grey that I did, together and I really like it. I really wasn't going light enough with the highlights. Practice is helping greatly with zenithal highlighting. I'm much happier with this squad than my other three. The termies ended up a bit lighter than I'd planned, but still obviously Space Wolves, and it helps them stand out.I'm almost finished doing the basecoating for the metallics on all of the Terminators and Grey Hunters. After the metal bits, it's hair, faces, and shoulder pads. Easy. Trying out a new technique for eyes which technically means painting them three times. I hate painting eyes. The technique is one I tried for jewels, lenses, and lights and it works well. Paint a bright silver, in this instance Tamiya bare aluminum, then overcoat with a Tamiya clear. We'll see how it looks on helmet eyes. Taking a break, then I'll be back at it tonight! Feeling good. I think I'm working through the "I don't want to paint" slump I've been nursing for the last couple months. Getting excited to do it all again. I've also made good progress on converting my Warhammer Giant into a Surtur themed Bloodthirster, and I just got a box of Flamers in the mail today that are begging to be assembled. |

Member Since: May 11, 2013 Initative RK: 1 MP: 0 | Sunday September 29, 2013 9:49 PM Down to the wire and...Terrible misfortune!!! It's been a while since I've used it, so when I popped open my pot of Runelord Bronze, I was surprised to find it irreparably spoiled. Completely lumpy. I got a little done with it, but clearly I need a new pot. I thought Hashut copper would work as it's similar, but it is noticeably different. So, I moved on to the parts needing Leadbelcher and made it through all 20 Grey Hunters, and 4 Terminators. Little time left, but I see the finish line! Tomorrow, with fresh pot of Runelord Bronze in hand, I will finish up the remaining metallic bits, then do faces and hair. A few tiny details afterward, but that's it! I'm still debating weather or not I should paint the trim of my Terminators gold, or bronze like the rest of my army. So far, I've reserved gold for the trim of special characters. I'm leaning toward bronze for the simple fact a base color isn't required so it will take less time, and to maintain coherency. What do you guys think? |
