My threat is to paint the GW Araby Maneater, GW Paymaster Maneater, GW Pirate Maneater, GW Ninja Maneater, and Reaper Miniatures Kagunk Ogre Boss (counts as). Based coated all his cloth and metal black...which made the skin look really washed out. I was already thinking I needed more contrast in his skin, but this confirmed it for me. He will have true metal, and he's got a lot of it. It's going to be a blackened steel, but not too black.  I also worked on his shield...added more reds, yellows, and greens to the shield face. It's kinda tough to see in the pics, but it's there!    All of these pics were taken in bad lighting late at night with a Droid Razr phone camera...not exactly the greatest. I also worked on some of the final touches of Araby. He is not as shiny as he appears! Again, bad combo of bad lighting/bad camera. It is one of the better phone cameras though, lol     The next few pics aren't part of my threat, but they are part of the unit I'm working on. All of the maneaters will have black or close to black clothing and blackened metal. Again, not as shiny or washed out as they appear... Avatars of War Ogre Hero and GW Bragg the Gutsman converted to be a standard bearer modeled with the Dragonhide Banner:       Hubby hasn't done any of their basing yet, but we may get the sculpey out and work on that this week. Hopefully soon I will have a chance to take decent pics with a decent camera in good lighting with a big f-stop. So sorry for all the shininess tonight! |
