Looking forward to getting some feedback.I've got three warbikes assembled and primed. Hoping to have their riders on 'em ready to go by the end of the month. I used GW Leadbelcher with Armor Wash from Secret Weapon Miniatures. I've never heard of them before, but a buddy left all his painting stuff here, so I figured I'd experiment. You likely noticed the base had fallen off one model. I'm probably going to have to pin it. I might remove them all as I'm not sure what to do for a base yet. Any ideas? |

As for the bases, looks like it would be easier to apply the basing material with the bike off. It all depends on what you want to do, scenic or plain. Try going to Google images and search, Ork Warbikes, and see wha tcomes up, might be able to get an idea from there. Or, coolminiornot, I go therre a lot to get insperation for my bases.Sarge "If you ain't CAV, you ain't!!" |

He could be doing a wheely, or maybe sliding to one side. You could work on the rider's pose. I've never seen a mini doing an Indian Larry, so there's that for originality.... I'm going to base my SM bikes on asphalt(blacktop with lines(no not that original)). |

I like where this is going.Anyway. So, I tried to do that salt technique, but without an airbrush. I ended up chipping salt of the model for about an hour... paint worked quite a bit like glue even with flow-aid and water. But it looks alright. I'm not 100% yet though. I think more weathering is in order. And definitely more details! Bike looks so sad with no rider... [[Edited by TheGentleman81 on Tuesday December 10, 2013 10:32 PM]] |

Member Since: December 8, 2013 Initative RK: 1 MP: 0 | Wednesday December 11, 2013 10:18 PM So I did the second bike with the hairspray technique. I've used this before and found it very effective on larger models (wartrukk). Not so sure how well it worked on a smaller vehicle. I was also a bit rushed to get this done so it wasn't quite as dry as I would have liked before I began chipping the paint off. Take a look for yourselves below.Bike on the left - hairspray metheod. (no highlighting or detailing done Bike on the right - salt method Also! I would like to thank everyone for their comments, suggestions and support! It keeps me motivated, and I think will help to turn out some nice looking models. Cheers! [[Edited by TheGentleman81 on Wednesday December 11, 2013 10:19 PM]] |

I am liking the bike done with the salt, but maybe as you said you were rushed, and highlighting and details may bring it out better. All in all nice work so far, keep at it.Sarge "If you ain't CAV, you ain't!!" |
