It took until tonight for me to choose the skin color for George, just couldn't come up with one right away. Decided on purple, as I need to work on this color a little more. So, here's George, base coated: I used VGC (Vallejo Game Color) Hexed Lichen with a little AC (Andrea Color), Flat Black. I was hoping to stay on the darker side of the purple, more blue than red. So I have the skin painted and I am happy with the outcome:    I paint from dark to light, just easier for me. So I gave the base coat a wash of GW Drakenhof Nightshade, As I want to stay to the blue side, this was my choice for the shadows. The first highlight was VGC Hexed Lichen and VGC Warlord Purple (yeah it is more the red side, but lighten it up just right) I did a about a 50/50 mix, but as I eye ball the color, it's hard for me to give accurate ratios. I also use very thin paints, and tried Vallejo Thinner Medium. This stuff is great, thinned the paint, and kept the pigment density, the only downside is the cost, still cheaper to go with my bottled water, so I omly use this so often. Next I highlighted again by adding a few drops of AV Flesh 2nd Highlight, from their boxed set, I did this until I was happy with the highlighting, just kept adding more of the flesh color. Still might clean it up a bit, but I find when I do that, I screw it up, will more liklely leave it. So, next will be the hair, horns, and hooves, then on to the toga, the wings last. I think the wings will be the hardest part for me, still not sure what to paint them. body color, or black is what I am thinking. All in all I like George, the figure hase been fun to paint, and for a metal model, he went together very well. let me know what you think of George so far, and tips for the wings will be appreciated. Think I am going to try to do the wings in same body color, but in a darker shade on the outer, a little lighter for the underside. If it doesn't work out, I can always do black.
