Thanks everyone, glad you all like the base. I haven't decided if I am going to keep the molded on rocks under his front foot or not. What do you think? Also, never used a real rock before for a base. Should I seal it? If so, I expect it will change the color tone. Any advice?

Got some more done tonight, finished the Trollblood Axer, photos below. I'm just about finished with both of the Impalers, just the arme and a few small bits to finish. Hope to have them primed this weekend, and start painting. Right now I have tomorrow night, all day Sunday, and Monday to finish Madrak, if I want enter him in the Gen Con comp. I am leaving late Tuesday/early Wednesday for Indy, 15 hour road trip, and no A/C...lol.

Don't why I did this, see red circle, but got carried away with my pin vise and popped through the top of his foot! At least it's an easy fix, and hopefully doesn't delay getting it done by Tuesday.

QUOTED Thanks everyone, glad you all like the base. I haven't decided if I am going to keep the molded on rocks under his front foot or not. What do you think? Also, never used a real rock before for a base. Should I seal it? If so, I expect it will change the color tone. Any advice?

While I do like to use real rocks in my bases, I always prime and paint them. I have never tried using the I.R.L. colours on the rock as they normally don't have enough contrast to blend in with the model atop it. However, that's a pretty cool looking rock. All and all it's looking great so far and I can't wait to see what it looks like finished and by the sound of it that will be really soon!

Have the Trolls assembled, hope to prime tomorrow. Another observation about these, they go together easily enough, all the major components are slotted. That is all but quiver for the Impalers, and the heads. for the quiver I guess you are to just glue it on the back, problem is both the figure and the quiver are nicely detailed and there isn't a designated spot for it. I decided to just pin it to back, as the quiver does not sit flush, may have to carve some away from the figure too. And then there is the heads, I guess the plastic used is a combination of resin and plastic, and my Tamiya glue had no effect on it, The neck area is just a flat space, no slot, on both figure and the head. I pinned it and used super glue. All in all, I think they are pretty cool, and even with the mold line issue I will get more. Now, I just have to get them painted.

Ok, my 24 hours of mourning having to turn around and come back from my road trip to Gen Con is over. I've stopped wailing, gnashing my teeth. and have washed the ash off. Good thing my neighbor is not home, or I am sure the police would have been called...lol. I had planned on priming and doing some painting while at Gen Con, so I did it here. So far have the Impalers, and Axer on their bases and primed, I am still working on the repair, and posing for Madrak, and will be handling the figure a lot, so will prime him later today, or tomorrow. I have decided to go with the studio colors, but have a twist for Madrak. Went with this for a time factor, more than anything else. So, let the painting begin!!!
